MINUTES OF THE QUARTERLY BRANCH MEETING AT MOTTRAM ON SATURDAY 23RD APRIL 2005

Vote of thanks

Peter Broadbent thanked Christine Broadley and the Mottram ringers for the use of the bells and for providing excellent refreshments.

Apologies

Apologies were received from Peter and Sue Dyson, Frances Hibbert and Derek Smith.

New Members

Stephanie Benstead of Mottram was elected a member of the Guild. Proposed by Christine Broadley and seconded by Simeon Farrington.

Branch Quarter Peal Week

A total of 17 quarter peals had been rung. Alan McFall was to send a report to the Ringing World.

  Branch Ringing Master

Trevor Marchbank wished to stand down owing to other commitments. It was decided after some discussion to have only one Ringing Master, at the moment Alan McFall, with a rota of volunteers who could be called upon to run the ringing at meetings when Alan was unavailable. The Secretary would ask for volunteers to let Alan know direct if they wanted to be included on the rota. This would not be a very onerous duty and people would only be called upon occasionally. Obviously, the more on the rota the less frequently people would be called on.

  General

A suggestion was made that any points anyone wanted raising at meetings should be notified to the Secretary before the meeting.

15 members signed the Attendance Book.

Evening ringing continued at Hayfield until 8:00pm.
